We would like to thank our families, members, staff, volunteers, Ambassadors, and Board members for helping to make our very first Giving Challenge such a big success. A total of 103 different donors contributed during a 24-hour span, from April 28 \u2013 29, during 2020 Giving Challenge, presented by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. All donations up to $100 during the 2020 Giving Challenge received a 1:1 match by the Patterson Foundation. The Steinwachs Family Foundation added an exclusive match to Academy donors, helping to triple donations to the Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2020 Giving Challenge included the participation of nearly 800 area non-profits. The Academy received $26,920 in donations, including matching gifts, which will be used during this crucial time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Academy has transitioned to fully implemented virtual work-ordered day, Monday \u2013 Friday, from 8 a.m. \u2013 4 p.m. These services provide Academy members with the opportunity to stay on a schedule, build vocational skills and connect to fellow members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
