Graphic Arts Instructor

The Academy offers skill training, community supports and job placement to members 18 and up living with a mental illness. The Academy seeks a high energy, compassionate candidate who thrives on teamwork to co-lead of Arts and Multimedia Team.

* Recent graduates and/or entry level graphic arts professionals are eligible to apply.

Employment Overview

All Academy positions are hands-on, direct service roles that support the rehabilitation process. This includes training and coaching duties both on-site as well as at community-based employment settings. Experience working with persons with mental illness or other disabilities is preferred, although not required.

The Graphic Arts Coordinator is responsible for the management of our graphic design team:

  • Responsible for graphic design, marketing, and newsletters.
  • Work side-by-side with Academy members (adults living with disabilities) in all aspects of graphic design operations.
  • Co-manage Arts & Multimedia Team with Videography Coordinator.
  • Role model professional workplace behaviors, attitudes and relationships.
  • Assume additional vocational rehabilitation responsibilities, as assigned.

Overview of Requirements

  • Education: Technical or college degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience. High School diploma/GED required.
  • Ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in these skill areas:
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Commercial printing processes and finishing platforms
    • Social media platforms
  • A passion for service and helping others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability.
  • Be a non-smoker both on and off site.
  • Willingness to submit to alcohol and drug screen upon hiring, and random drug testing while employed.
  • Pass State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and local law enforcement checks.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License, subject to a DMV records check and approval by Academy at Glengary, Inc., insurance carrier.
  • Possess a privately owned vehicle or must be able to access locations, possibly at a moment's notice, that may not be accessed by public transportation.

Compensation

Starting salary range is $40,000 – 49,000.
