Springtime Tomato Harvest

Our tomato harvest this year has exceeded expectations

We have discovered that October thru April are the best months to grow vegetables in Sarasota. Thanks to the efforts of Academy members and staff, and under the tutelage of volunteer Steve Weinberger, our tomato harvest this year has exceeded expectations.

Over the past winter, we grew a variety of vegetables and herbs for use in our meals. This is all part of our philosophy: Recovery involves the whole person – mind, body and spirit. Wellness and nutrition play an important role.

We will soon be preparing for the summer growing season – stay tuned for updates! Idanes Paredes and Alessio Tassoti, caring for our garden, are pictured above.
