WEDU lunches, learns and Liaises

West Central Florida’s PBS affiliate brings focus to the Academy.

We were excited when the Director of Marketing and Community Partnership of WEDU PBS, Michael Miner wanted to pay us a visit, but we weren’t sure what to expect. We surely weren’t expecting such an engaging and engaged guest! As Michael toured the Academy, he hunkered down in the teams, pouring over archived newsletters, watching our most recent videos, and asking the kind of questions one asks when their interest is clearly piqued.

He shared that he was impressed with how closely our values align. WEDU lists integrity, inclusion and innovation as three main values.Their goal is to provide quality multimedia content and community outreach to educate and inspire. Sound like anywhere else that we know?

In our humble opinion, a visit to the Academy is not complete without a topnotch lunch from our culinary team. Today’s fare was salmon with beet purée and Caesar salad. It did not disappoint!

Today’s tour was just a starting point; an opportunity to learn more about our respective agencies, and to explore our commonalities. We look forward to exploring our options as we develop our relationship with WEDU. We very well may see the Academy in future segments on mental health on WEDU. Wherever this new connection takes us, we can say for sure that it was a joy to host such a fun and interested guest.
